PATRON IN CHIEF'S MESSAGE

Muhammad Kashif

I feel really honored to be Patron-In-Chief of the Pakistan Optometric Society (POS). After 2009 Pakistan Optometric Society’s membership grew as different Optometry institutions across Pakistan started producing Optometrists. The Society is a professional registered organization to further help and facilitate training of Optometrists.

The society has organized 6 national conferences and one international conference. The members have read papers on different aspects of Optometry in Pakistan and in different countries. Upto January 2021, the membership reached to about 1000+ Optometrists.

The standard of Optometry has improved tremendously and it has a great future in Pakistan. There is need to strive for establishing a separate Optometry council in Pakistan. Services are rapidly expanding and there is increasing demand of Optometrists. I would also like to appreciate the entire team and cabinet members of all chapters of Pakistan Optometric Society around Pakistan for their untiring efforts for the uplift of Optometry.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Aimal khan

Dear colleagues, it is a great honor and indeed a great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to work with you for the better future of Optometry. The Pakistan Optometric Society is a national organization representing thousands of Optometrists across Pakistan. Pakistan Optometric Society was formed in 2009 in Islamabad by Optometrists from all over Pakistan with the aim of assistance in improving the standard of education of Optometry in Pakistan and also to promote the interests of Optometrists through continuous education and research.

I firmly believe that any society should be about serving its members in the best way possible. A position of the leader comes with certain responsibilities and insights to be gained. The first is to be sensitive to what our members want and dwell less on what leadership thinks they need. This means we shall be actively reaching out to members and volunteers eliciting feedback. Finally, We shall be committed and do our best no matter what the outcome.
